Testing Acids and Alkalis
LITMUS is a substance extracted from organisms called lichens; it is commonly used in chemistry to indicate whether a solution is acidic or alkaline. Litmus paper is blue or red, depending on which form of litmus is present.
When acidic solution is placed on litmus paper, the blue litmus will turn red while the red litmus will stay red. Alkalis turn red litmus blue while the blue litmus stays blue. Distilled water is neutral and will leave the litmus colour unchanged. Litmus paper is a rough acid-alkali indicator and not a precise measurement.
All acids are not of the same strength; some are strong and some are weak. There are also strong and weak alkalis. Scientists use the pH (potential of Hydrogen) scale with a range from 1 to 14 to indicate the strength of an acid or alkali.
INSTRUCTIONS:
1. Click a liquid to dip one end of both (blue and red) litmus paper into that liquid
2. Mouseout to dry the litmus paper
3. Use a NEW set of litmus paper for each liquid

-->My daughter had the old scars. Now i'm using my baby's forehead. The color is purple. The coler is not good when she go to the school. Because they show the color on her forehead. So we can use it at night. Eventhough I use it for short time, I expect this product help the old scars.
-->It's a great product! I used regular Mederma for a scar my oldest daughter had and now you have to be right up in her face to even see it, it's so faint now. When my 4 year old son had to get stitches, I bought the kids Mederma right away. (My kids are too beautiful to have scars.) Yes, its a little expensive, but you only need a little bit for each application, so it lasts a looong time.
-->I bought this product because it came in a smaller tube than the adult version and I don't plan on using it that much longer. I was out of the other after having used it twice daily for 3 months on a burn scar. I'm thinking once this tube is gone, so will my scar. This product is amazing. I see improvement almost daily. It does have a slight grape smell but rubs in quickly and dries clear. I've never had a problem with it getting on my clothes even if I dress minutes after application.
-->I am not sure why this product is a "kids" version, other than it is purple going on the skin. The purple is annoying because you have to rub it in completely in order to not have a purple coating on the skin. I had to rub and rub at my toddler (who wanted to take off). Plus the purple color can get on clothes, etc. I would just buy the regular Mederma. This did work on my daughter's burn scar; it is still visible, but smaller and faded to the same color as her skin. I used it twice a day.
-->My daughter's face got scraped with a fingernail and after the scab had healed, she had a pink spot that wasn't fading and was indented a little bit, so I bought mederma. This was 2 years ago and there is no trace of where the scar was. My son crashed his chin into the edge of the picnic table, so he has a pink line down the middle of it. I will be using this to help it fade.

->Vick vapor rub has worked for me killing toenail fungas. I had read this in a doctors column in the newspaper several years ago and from time to time I hear or read about it. I tried it on two toe nails that had become thick due to fungas. I put vicks on my toenails at night and after about 6-8 weeks the fungas was gone. Works great
->Works well on my toddler. She slept thru' the night even when she had cough and cold.
